In the heart of Tatranská Lomnica, a resort has been created that combines modern architecture, natural materials and a thoughtfully designed lighting concept.
Elements Resort offers a space where every detail contributes to the overall atmosphere and light plays one of the key roles.
In this project, LEDCO focused on lighting solutions that support the architectural character while creating a strong visual and emotional experience.
The Concept of Five Elements in Architecture
Elements Resort is based on the philosophy of five natural elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Wood and Metal. These elements are reflected in the materials, forms and colour palette of the interiors. The energy of fire, the calmness of water, the elegance of wood, the precision of metal and the strength of earth together form a harmonious foundation for the entire complex.
To this concept, we added another essential element – light. Light naturally highlights material structures, supports architectural logic and shapes the atmosphere of individual spaces.
LEDCO Lighting Design – Precision in Every Detail
When designing the lighting, we closely followed the resort’s philosophy and worked with natural materials and the subtle atmosphere of the mountain environment.
We approached light as an integral part of the architecture, not merely as a technical addition.
- Atmosphere and emotion – warm light tones, smooth brightness transitions and earthy colours enhance the calm character of the wellness areas and the cosy feeling of the apartments.
- Integration of light into architecture – luminaires seamlessly follow wood, stone and mineral surfaces thanks to concealed or recessed installation, ensuring an undisturbed visual composition.
- Custom solutions – wellness and E-SPA areas required technically precise solutions resistant to heat and humidity, while apartments demanded a softer, more atmospheric lighting approach.
Wellness & SPA – Light as an Experience
The wellness zone and SPA form the heart of the resort, which is why we focused on comfort, relaxation and aesthetics when designing their lighting. In these areas, we primarily worked with linear and indirect lighting that shapes the architectural forms while creating an intimate, calming atmosphere. The light naturally responds to the textures of wood, stone and water, reinforcing their soothing, harmonious character.
Sauna World
In the saunas, we chose solutions that withstand high temperatures and humidity. Concealed light lines illuminate wooden slats, follow the organic shapes of benches and walls, and create a soft, relaxing lighting effect.
- Rhythm of wooden elements – the light emphasises vertical slats and the organic forms of the benches.
- Spatial modelling – the lighting shapes the space without harsh shadows or glare.
- Intimacy and relaxation – subtle light lines maintain privacy and a soothing atmosphere.
Pool Area
In the pool zone, lighting lines from the COLORS NeonFlex system create elegant reflections on the water surface. These lines gently follow the shape of the space and visually extend it, making the pool area feel more open and relaxed.
Reflective ceiling surfaces in combination with light add a calm, pleasant atmosphere that enhances relaxation and visual comfort.
Relaxation Area
In the relaxation zone, we combined linear backlighting with subtle accent lighting. Light highlights the structure of wall claddings while directing attention to distinctive interior details such as decorations, architectural niches and brand identity elements of the resort.
Reduced glare ensures visual comfort even during longer stays, allowing guests to fully enjoy moments of relaxation.
Apartments – Subtle Elegance and Attention to Detail
Elements apartments combine wood, glass and contemporary materials. Lighting supports the natural beauty of textures while completing the atmosphere of everyday living.
- Concealed light lines soften transitions between surfaces and enhance the clean interior design.
- COLORS circular profile luminaires create elegant focal points in the social areas of the apartments.
- Functional lighting lines dominate living and daytime zones, with an emphasis on comfort and practicality.
- Bedrooms are complemented by a combination of indirect and wall lighting, creating a calm evening atmosphere.
Exterior – A Distinctive Entrance and Natural Continuity
Resort entrances are accentuated by subtle decorative segments of NeonFlex D25 mm 360°. They create a distinctive lighting signature for the resort and ensure excellent visibility after dark.
Exterior lighting was designed to respect the surrounding landscape while seamlessly connecting to the architecture and material concept of the entire complex.
