MIESTO Interior Lighting: COLORS NNR40 as a Signature Lighting Feature

For the MIESTO interior in Nové Mesto nad Váhom, we created a distinctive lighting concept using COLORS LED NeonFlex NNR40. The organic light line flows freely through the space, connects individual zones, and turns the lighting into a signature design feature of the entire interior.

Creating a welcoming space takes more than a high-quality interior. Light plays a key role in how we perceive its proportions, materials, and atmosphere. For the lighting of MIESTO in Nové Mesto nad Váhom, we therefore developed a concept dominated by a striking organic line created with COLORS LED NeonFlex NNR40.

The light line flows freely through the interior, passes above the individual functional zones, and visually connects them into a unified whole. The result is not only functional lighting, but also a distinctive feature that gives the entire space its own identity.

COLORS NNR40 as the dominant feature of the interior

The main element of the lighting concept is COLORS LED NeonFlex NNR40 from the Magic 360 series. Unlike conventional linear luminaires, it can form free-flowing organic shapes and emits light evenly around its entire circumference. In the space, it therefore acts not only as a light source, but as a design object in its own right.

For this project, we used 20 metres of LED NeonFlex NNR40 with a diameter of 40 mm in the RGB + 4000 K version. The combination of coloured RGB light and separate white light makes it possible to change the character of the lighting according to the desired atmosphere and use of the space.

More information about the technology, available accessories, and system options can be found in the COLORS LED NeonFlex 360° category.

A light line designed for a specific space

One of the greatest advantages of NNR40 is the freedom it offers when working with shape. Instead of conventional straight lines, we were able to create flowing curves that respond to the interior layout and naturally guide the eye through the space.

The NeonFlex is suspended from the ceiling using subtle suspension cables and dedicated mounting accessories. This gives the light line a light, almost floating appearance. Viewed from different positions, its geometry continually changes – at one moment forming a large arc, at another a loop or a long, flowing line.

This application shows that linear LED lighting does not have to mean a simple straight line of light. With the right design, it can become a distinctive architectural feature.

Multiple layers of light for a welcoming atmosphere

We complemented the dominant COLORS NNR40 with other types of luminaires that provide both functional and atmospheric lighting for the individual areas. The lighting concept therefore works with several layers – from the striking central light line to subtler accent and decorative lighting.

Spotlights and wall lights appear throughout the interior, while additional pendant luminaires define smaller functional zones. Warmer lighting accents highlight wooden surfaces and material textures while creating a contrast with the distinctive NNR40 line.

The result is balanced lighting that provides sufficient illumination for everyday operation while preserving the pleasant atmosphere of the space.

The lighting continues outdoors

The lighting concept does not end at the interior doors. The project also includes lighting for the outdoor terrace, where we opted for a more intimate and warmer atmosphere instead of the dominant light line.

Exterior wall and pendant luminaires create soft lighting accents on the façade and a pleasant setting for evening seating. The interior and terrace use different lighting elements, yet together they form one harmonious whole.

From selecting NNR40 to the completed installation

The distinctive light line is also the result of a careful selection process. The owner of MIESTO chose the specific NeonFlex diameter directly in the LEDCO showroom, where the available options could be compared to find a version whose proportions suited the scale of the space.

The final choice was the 40 mm COLORS NNR40. Its larger diameter made it possible to create a lighting feature that remains an integral part of the interior even during the day and becomes a dominant luminous object when switched on.

The organic shape of the light line is best appreciated while moving through the interior. In the video, you can see how NNR40 changes depending on the viewing angle and how it connects the individual areas of the venue.

Light as part of the identity of the space

The MIESTO project shows that lighting does not have to remain merely a technical element of an interior. Using the possibilities offered by COLORS NNR40, we created a light line that responds to the architecture, connects the individual zones, and gives the space a distinctive character.

At LEDCO, we design lighting solutions around each specific space and the way it is used. From selecting the technology and developing the lighting concept to the technical solution and final installation, we look for ways to combine the functionality of light with architecture and atmosphere.
